Please!

KOffice is pretty good. It has got as many features as OpenOffice, but it is quite usable.

When will people stop trying to unify OpenSource projects!!!

(Plus I remind you that OpenOffice is not GPL!)

Well, not really. Think footnotes, think about the number of supported formulae in KSpread, think filters. On the other hand, KOffice has a great foundation and one can only dream of what it could become given enough developers. Seriously, there are maybe 10 developers working on KOffice. They need help.

If KOffice would release more often, it would receive more attention. Sure, it may only be one or two new minor features in each component but still it would be appreciated and increase KOffice's exposure.

<kinda-rantmode>With a release schedule of 1 release every (off the top of my head) 5 months KOffice barely has any exposure at all. Had the developers chosen to have a minor release planned for KDE3.0 they could have gained a hell of alot of attention! But no... /me shakes head in dismay. </kinda-rantmode>

Anyway, best of luck to the KOffice developers. Your work is crucial to KDE sucess.

(don't reply and mention OpenOffice. Yes, it's good. But it doesn't blend in well with KDE. Not to mention that it is SLOW)

No, but it's LGPL. So what?
