Re: would it kill you to use Evolution

Hi Max (and others ;-)
I think Evolution is
a) to heavy
b) doesnt have good import filters
c) reminds me to much of Outlook
d) mostly commercial
which made me think twice. The best I found was kmail. Plus it fully integrates into KDE. Make a "top" and compare the resources Evolution is requiring and kmail is using. Evolution didnt add any import filters during the last 2 years (not a single one !!). They just update the design and bugfixes. While at this time Evolution was grafically the most advanced, it didnt develop much further from my point of view. Kmail (as well as the whole KDE) was constantly improved and new features added. I think that definitely kmail (and KDE) is the choice to make.
f.e Which Desktop environment had first the feature to start a new X-window session from within an X-windows session ? ( the answer is KDE)
Why does RedHat 9 come with a installed konqueror on a gnome desktop ?
(its a KDE application) - because it rocks !!
If you are discussing that you dont need the PIM than dont use it - as simple as that ;-)
I believe KDE (including kmail) is the best Desktop Environment around for a normal desktop users.
The whole KDE project made a big step forward from KDE 3.1.
Nothing which I would be able to mention about the Gnome desktop that would be even close to this.
Thats my $0.02. You might want to flame me for this (its just my personal opinion).
Best regards
Nils Valentin
