I like the memory reduction but what about ...

Yes, ok, but what about bug 57871?

This seems to be a pretty drastic change or else it would have already been done. I sure hope they plan on implementing this. Not being able to select multiple, non-contiguous rows / columns means KSpread is still behind Excel from at least the Windows 98 era (6+ years ago!) ...

If this functionality interest you but have no KOffice hacking skills (like myself unfortunately) please at least vote for the bug.

That's on our target, don't worry. But it's just that first we need to restructure internals of KSpread to become much more memory-efficient. Else, nifty features and other advanced stuff would be memory hungry and therefore less useful.
