It seems to me that until this stuff is mature, the occasional refactoring is something we'll need to suck up.

I.e., if it needs to happen, better to do it now than later.

And once it does happen, if they're right about lowering the bar for new programmers, then OSS may be well served by the move.

Like Matthias says, where is Motif now? Even Windows has moved on with .Net.
