Yeah, let's scare more people about using GPL-licensed products. The GPL seems more like a disease now than a copyright license.

It doesn't scare people who know what they're talking about. Licensing under the GNU General Public License scares people who don't take the time to understand the terms of what they are getting involved in (which is never advised, no matter what license is being considered).
