why can't we hide the tree views?
by Castanheiro on Sunday 30/Nov/2003, @07:14
It's a small thing, but it's one that i miss alot! Why isn't possible to have a colapsable tree view? Something like konqueror has on it's sidebar, if you click on a icon it opens the view, but if you you click on a icon of something already open it colapses the sidebar... Horizontal space (space in general) is very important when you code... and now that quanta have a visual editor it should be more important! it's annoying all that horizontal scroll...
And no.... windows floating around it is not the solution!

It is possible! All you have to do is enable a highly volatile option on configure (--enable-kmdi) and you will have all that and more. As usual, the only thing we're really missing is the time for this few people to complete that many tasks. ;-) We hope to introduce it very soon on a BE release. This will be pretty much what the new Kdevelop does for selecting windowing modes and collapsing panels. Wait a little and your patience will be rewarded... or send patches. ;-)
