Re: Distro support
by Eric Laffoon on Sunday 17/Oct/2004, @05:31
Andras already does work full time on Quanta! I started paying him in 2002. It has been my project and now I consider Andras very much a partner. I would be happy to take money from a corporate entity as long as they agreed to allowing us to function as we do currently, making our decisions about our development direction. Neither Andras or I would be particularly excited about a new arrangement that might compromise our vision on the project. I'm sure Andras would be the first to credit my direction on the project and of course I'd love to get a check as well. ;-)

FWIW I know distros do support some developers, but I didn't feel like waiting or trying to make the case to a corporate board. distrowatch did send us money... I'm still waiting on all the distros that are making money on my efforts... but I'm not holding my breath. ;-)
