Great must be made a standard
by ra1n on Friday 16/Sep/2005, @06:58
This is an awesome thing that for me will help a lot porting commercial apps without bothering of package building (or hating rpm-only distribution made by some vendor) but to have success this must be supported by other DEs like Gnome and xfce (and also enlightenment) ROX already supports AppDirs, so if AppDirs (or compressed AppDirs) become standard they could help a lot distributing software under linux (or BSD) especially commercial ones (which most of the times are staically linked so there are no dependencies problems)
Great work!
