What about a project "Sweet" for Suse Yast integration. At least parts which are not SuSe specific could get merged. I think of stuff like the partitioning tool.

The partition tool is nothing more than a frontend for GNU Parted.
So, i guess it makes more sense to write a KDE-gui for Parted then to port the YaST-module..

Mandrake has by far the best Linux partitioner that I'm aware of

If only it was easier to get QTParted to support reiserfs..
