sync
by hup on Saturday 20/May/2006, @11:46
It is very difficult for me to keep track of the different Sync frameworks, projects, libraries etc. It seems every 12 month a new sync project is started.

That's the point of OpenSync. Most of the previous syncing projects have been too specific (cellphones only, Palm only, etc.) or tied to a particular platform (eg. old KitchenSync, MultiSync). As mentioned in the article OpenSync is not tied to a specific platform nor is it limited to one class of devices. Thus it has a greater chance of being successful than previous efforts, because it has a wider audience.

OpenSync is meant to solve exactly this problem.
