They should have used gimp :-))

Even MS Office would not produce 1MByte+ screenshots.
Opening those PNGs and re-saving them as PNGs reduces size by >90%.

    I didn't found any 1MByte screenshots (maybe someone fixed them), and loading them and saving back with either krita or the gimp give the same results as the compression is done by libpng...
