kioexec cat http://www.kde.org
It'll even offer to upload back to the server if you modify the file. (works with fish, sftp, ftp, webdav, etc.)

How about integration by konsole sniffing for addresses from shell prompt and redirecting them transparenntly to kioexec?
After all, konsole is the layer between user and the shell... ;-)
