It depends on what features you turn on. With all effects, it won't run smooth. But some basic effects should work fine... Maybe lubos knows some details here. And there's an article about performace, but it's about Beryl. Kwin won't be a 100 times faster I guess, so it should give a pretty good idea of what is needed. http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=730&num=1

So us with older hardware can turn them All off. Excellent!

I could see some benchmarks of Intels latest chipset, but what about their older chipsets? Anyone knows?
