Never used KDE-EDU
by T. J. Brumfield on Tuesday 11/Sep/2007, @20:32
I've never used the apps personally, but I've always loved the notion that KDE has committed to education software, which is really important. As a parent, I look forward to building my daughter her own KDE-EDU box when she is old enough.

And apps like Marble, Kalzium and Kiten should make inroads into schools for Linux.
