Slow on SID?
KDE updates are usually available when the release announcement hits the web, some of the packages appear even during the week after tagging.

Actually just use the first CD iso named $version-kde-CD-1-iso
There is also such a CD 1 for XFCE, the one for GNOME is missing.

The generic CD 1 has a bug in its desktop task item, i.e. it fails to ask the question which desktop to install and just uses one of the choices. It is possible to set this automatic choice by a boot prompt parameter though.
Given the high quality work usually available in Debian this bug will likely be fixed soon.
