Multiplatform Support
by T. J. Brumfield on Wednesday 20/Feb/2008, @06:25
This is the biggest thing with me. I have to use Windows boxes at work. I dual-boot on my main desktop. I want to use the same suite on both Windows and Linux.

The moment I can run KOffice on Windows, and import Office 2003 docs reasonably well, I'm switching.

Apparently, MS has more or less released the specs of their binary formats.
Is there any plan to improve Koffices filter there (not talking about OXML but previous docs)?

Use LaTeX. Write on any platform.

Use ODF. Write on any platform.

You'll forgive me if I don't care that you want Windows support when Microsoft doesn't want Linux support. Hell they don't want Mac support but it makes them too much money and they need all they can get with SONY soon to eat at their just recent profit making XBox Division.
