I really don't understand the "I want to save the screen real estate, even while I'm not doing anything in it". The same sort of logic that says "the OS is using up all the memory!!!" like it should keep some sitting doing nothing just to make you feel comfortable. Weird... Anyway, I'd love to see a full-screen menu system that does something smart. Searching for things we can assimilate a lot of information in our peripheral view, hiding the things we're looking for in hierarchies doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
