I don't have anything to do with KDE or Akademy either but I agree with you to the fullest.
I'd prefer if those who didn't have anything constructive to say would just shut up. Whining isn't helping anyone. And if you need to critisize, be specific and offer a solution.
So to those who didn't like the logo or the brochure "Step up to the plate". If you think it looks bad, help out. Make it better or prettier. Do something other than complain. It just brings the people who actually accomplish something down.
