Go, snow girl, go
by icwiener on Friday 18/Apr/2008, @04:47
It's hard to believe that one can talk about the japanese translation without mentioning Yukikosan's work.

Commits in trunk/l10n-kde4/ja/messages: 1249
Yukiko: 665
scripty: 418
pino: 49
coolo: 46
aacid: 27
okushi: 14
mlaurent: 11
ilic: 9
dfaure: 5
alam: 1
cconnel: 1
shaforo: 1

I know. The KDE Community in Japan does more than "just" translation work, but talking about a "translation community" is a bit exaggerated.

A big arigato gozaimasu to the japanese KDE folks who make a desktop possible I will hopefully use in a year or so. :D

cheers

That's actually very often the case also in other languages. Many translators don't have a svn account.

In that list, the real Japanese translators are Jukiko and okushi (if I'm not mistaken).

All the other people (me included) just do "service work" in the translation trees, eg moving translations, removing old ones, etc.
Oh, and there's also Scripty... but it's just a script :)
