52kB/S? Consider yourself lucky. There's no ISDN here (no free ports), so we have to live analog with mostly 36kbaud on these old wires. Only some 2km away people get VDSL 50/10 flatrates for even €10 less a month. Damn fiber. *grrrrrr*

I'm Korean, and now in Sweden for an exchange study.
The broadband in Korea is great, but Sweden's is also great!;;
However, the connection between Sweden and Korea is slow....

Probably, but sourkorea began with building their structures only 10-20 years ago. So they had'nt problems with existing structures. Also, soutkorea is mainly small, unlike the wide ranges in the usa, which minimize the cost drastic.
It's a situation found in many countrays who are late adopters. They can start off with the better solutions and must'nt wait for the establishing of a leading technology.

I'm using my EVDO phone for network connection in rural area.
I get 14kbps usually.
