Why should a programmer choose Qt and not GTK.

They "should" not

Programmers should just choose whatever they like.
Dispite Borland C++ Builder's "superiority", many people still choose M$VC++, for example.

maybe a better way to state the question would have been:

"What advantages does Qt have over GTK+?"

but oh well... in the world of opensource, it's hard not to hear questions asking for an objective answer when the only true answer has to be subjective (ie: which distro is the best?)...

Its a question i'd like the TT people to answer. I'm sure it will be enlightening and interesting.

    *sniff* .. I smell smoke :)

How on earth are they supposed to answer that without pinging someone's pride in the GTK camp and starting a flame war.

I hope they have the good sense to discretely bypass that question and leave those people who genuinely need to make the decision to work it out for themselves.
