KDE 3.1 RC3: Last Dance?

The KDE Project today released KDE 3.1 RC3 with fixes for several severe bugs in RC2. This RC is likely the last before 3.1 although there remain a few items on the TODO list for KDE 3.1. If you find a showstopper problem in this release candidate not yet listed on bugs.kde.org, please file a report as soon as possible.

KDE 3.1 RC1: Ready for a Short Test Drive

The KDE Project yesterday
announced the release
of KDE 3.1 RC 1. This release, while important, will have but a short lifespan (RC 2 is scheduled for next Monday), and so binary packages are not planned.
A couple of points to consider: First,
if you are wed to the hicolor icons, please note that they have been moved
to the kdeartwork package; the other packages ship only with the new modern
and attractive Crystal-SVG icon theme.

KDE 3.0.4: Fourth Enhancement Release (And Two Security Advisories)

The KDE Project today

the release of KDE 3.0.4.
Besides a number of usability and stability enhancements,
it provides two important security
corrections. The first corrects the file sharing program KPF, which

KOffice 1.2. David Faure, KOffice

KDE 3.1 Beta 1: Hot off the Servers

The KDE Project is pleased to announce the availability of KDE
3.1 Beta 1 for your testing enjoyment. This release, which marks
the second testing release of the KDE 3.1 branch, offers many
improvements and bug fixes over KDE 3.0.x. New features include
improved OpenPGP handling in KMail, handy tooltips that provide
details of files in Konqueror quickly, and even new ways to be
