Two years ago the QtCentre site was launched. The goal was to provide the leading forum on the internet for encouraging the exchange of Qt experience and to provide a meeting point to the community. The response to this has been beyond our wildest expectations - all thanks to all our visitors and contributors.
FOSDEM 2008: Devroom Talks Wanted

As always, KDE will have a presence at next year's FOSDEM in Belgium on 23-24 February 2008. FOSDEM is a European meeting of free software developers, to listen to a plethora of interesting talks about anything related to free software.
We are looking for people to give a talk in the KDE or cross-desktop devroom.
KDE Project Day at FOSS.IN/2007

FOSS.IN/2007, India's premier
FOSS event in Bangalore. KDE Project Day is this Wednesday 5th December.
Project Day will have a complete starter course for eager
contributors to jump into KDE. Speakers would showcase various avenues
of contribution to KDE - artwork, documentation, translation,
development, marketing et al, basics of Qt/KDE programming and the
various frameworks as well as the state and future of KDE 4 and more. This is the biggest

Akademy-es 2007 in Zaragoza Spain

This past weekend, November 16th through the 18th, Zaragoza Spain was the home of Akademy-es 2007. The conference began early Saturday morning and finished Monday with a Hackathon. Akademy-es 2007, hosted by Hispalinux, Wireless Zaragoza, and the Zaragoza council, was a conference specifically for KDE developers and users from around Spain.
KDE 4.0 Release Event Contest Winners Announced

On October 4, 2007 we announced a contest regarding the KDE 4.0 Release Event at Mountain View, California on January 17-19, 2008. Participants were asked to answer the question: "Why should you be at the KDE 4.0 Release Event?" with the winner being flown out to the Release Event itself.
Report: KDE at The Italian Linux Day 2007 in Rome

On October 27th, KDE Italia attended the Italian Linux Day 2007 in Rome at the Tor Vergata University. Other cities had their Linux Day throughout Italy at the same time. For the people that have never attended to these kind of events, it is important to remember that the Italian Linux Day is a day dedicated to spreading Free and Open Source Software and specially the GNU/Linux Operating System and its software components such as KDE. The talks for the day were at different levels of difficulty and you could find widely accessible talks or talks for an expert audience with more technical and specific topics.
Akademy-es 2007 in Zaragoza, Spain

Our conference in Spain, Akademy-es, will be held in Zaragoza this year on the 17th and 18th November. We have a very interesting schedule with talks about CMake, KOffice, KDE programming, KDE 4 among other interesting topics. Of course, entry to the talks is free, only limited by physical space. We are planning to have a dinner on saturday night, if you are interested in attending mail sent us a mail to cena-akademy2007@ereslibre.es.
Akademy 2008 to be Held in Belgium

The annual KDE World Summit, Akademy, has found a home for 2008 in the heart of Europe, Belgium. The event is the most important conference for the contributors of the KDE project and will be held from Saturday August 9th to Saturday 16th at the De Nayer Institute, an associated campus of the University of Leuven. There are three sub-events: a contributors conference, the KDE e.V. annual general assembly and a week long hacking session. Akademy offers a great opportunity to the community to discuss all issues face-to-face. We also look forward to the chance to mingle with all KDE enthusiasts who want to drop by.
Windows Developers Meet in Berlin

KDE-EDU 4.0 Polishing on Saturday

This Saturday (15.09.) will see the first KDE-EDU 4.0 Polishing Day. The aim is to allow direct communication between users and developers. Issues, doubts and new ideas can be discussed, solved and coded in real time. For this purpose, a meeting will be held in #kde-polishing from 8:00 to 15:00 UTC. KHangMan, KGeography and blinKen will be this first meetings subjects. In order to participate, KDE 4.0 Beta 2 or newer is required, but using the precompiled KDE 4.0 Beta 2 packages for Kubuntu, Mandriva and openSUSE or the "KDE Four Live" CD is fine. Join in — you can make a difference!
