The Ark Linux team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the KDE centric desktop distribution Ark Linux 2006.1 - including KDE 3.5.4, Amarok 1.4.1, Kopete 0.12.1 with a hotfix for connecting to ICQ after the latest protocol change, a fully KDE-ified OpenOffice.org 2.0.3, and X.org 7.1.1. Another highlight in this release is the KDE based "rpmhandler", a tool that makes installing 3rd party packages easier than ever before.

Ark Linux 2006.1-rc1 Released with KDE 3.5.1

KDE distribution Ark Linux has released the first release candidate of version 2006.1. It includes the latest KDE 3.5.1, OpenOffice.org 2.0.2 with full KDE integration and Xorg 7.0. Starting with this version, Ark Linux uses amaroK 1.4 Beta as its default music player. KOffice 1.5 Beta is also part of this release with Krita as the graphics editor. Ark Linux is available for free download.

Following the release of KDE 3.5, the Ark Linux team is pleased to announce the release of Ark Linux 2005.2. Ark Linux is a Linux distribution designed especially for desktop use. Based on KDE it is easy to use even for people without prior Linux or any computing experience. As well as the latest KDE 3.5, this release includes OpenOffice.org fully integrated with KDE and the Krita image manipulation program. Ark Linux 2005.2 can be downloaded free of charge.

A release candidate of Ark Linux 2005.2 has been released, featuring KDE 3.5 Beta 1. Ark Linux is a very KDE centric desktop Linux distribution, aimed at making Linux easily usable to everyone while remaining technically sane. Aside from the move to KDE 3.5, this release features even more KDE integration including OpenOffice.org KAddressBook integration, and the usual round of speedups and bugfixes.
