KDE Wins Spot @Comdex Open Source Pavillion

KDE will be represented at the large US computer show COMDEX, in Las Vegas, from the 17th to 20th November, as a result of placing second in a poll run by O'Reilly Network. Developer George Staikos will be demonstrating the soon-to-be-released KDE 3.2, featuring a vast number of improvements in all areas, as well Kolab, the Free Software groupware solution. From the 24th to 28th of August 2002, members of KDE e.V. were invited to meet at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg, Germany, to discuss various matters relating to KDE e.V. and KDE in general. Several KDE Web Sites Migrated

Several recent unfortunate incidents, including a security breach,
have meant that a number of KDE web sites such as printing.kde.org, edu.kde.org, enterprise.kde.org,
and worldwide.kde.org, have
been forced to move to a new host. Previously these were hosted by
Bernhard "Bero" Rosenkraenzer on his server,
with bandwidth provided by Red Hat Germany. We would like to express
our gratitude to Bero for all the time and effort he put into
administering the server to allow the hosting, and to Red Hat for
for supplying the bandwidth.

A rather unusual application of the 'Special Printer' feature in KDEPrint
has been employed by KDE user Paul Evans for quite some time now. After being asked
to write an article about his inventions, he did so, and now finally it has been published on printing.kde.org. Allow yourself to be amazed at the power and flexibility of KPrinter, minus any involvement of dead flattened trees spoiled by
ink or black dust particles...
