KDE Week in Paris

In partnership with the Qt based VoIP free software OpenWengo and Mandriva, KDE-France is organising week of events in Paris from January 29th to February 2 about KDE 4. KDE will be present at the SolutionsLinux trade show, the annual French professional meeting for Open Source software. We will have a booth and give two presentations during the show. KDE at Solutions Linux 2006

Solutions Linux is currently taking place in Paris -- January 31st to February 2nd. KDE is participating in the Pavillon des associations and we're running a booth over there. We are welcoming present and future users to our demonstration of the latest stable version of KDE. We are also showcasing various riches of the KDE universe including Krita, the fast evolving KOffice painting application, Medintux, a cross-platform Qt GPL patient management framework for General Practitioners and Accident and Emergencies Departments, as well as Dental On Line, a complete commercial PyKDE solution for dentists. Solutions Linux is the main Linux Trade Show in France. The French KDE team was there like the precedent year promoting our favorite desktop. Our booth located in the very lively Association's village was organised by the indefatigable Gérard Delafond and sported an impressive Xinerama screen-wall demonstrating the brand new KDE 3.2. KDE-France will be holding a booth at Solutions Linux, a Linux Show in Paris open from the 4th to the 6th of February. David Faure will give a conference Wednesday afternoon about KDE for the end user. The KDE-France team will demonstrate KDE 3.1, sell KDE Goodies and a brand new KDE Demo CD based on Knoppix. Outlook Competition: Enter Kroupware and Kaplan

It has been a long time dream of the KDE PIM team to be able to integrate the different PIM applications into one common interface shell that would permit the creation of an Outlook-like application and provide a fully integrated personal information management system. Development of such an application is in fact rapidly picking up steam. In particular, the Kroupware Project, part of a full-blown open-source groupware solution for KDE and commissioned by the German government, was pre-announced and has already generated a flow of ideas and code.
