KDE e.V. Hardware Fundraiser Week

Wednesday, 19 July 2006
It's hot and you're melting? The KDE.org hardware infrastructure owned by KDE e.V. is melting as well! Out of the desperate need to upgrade our current disk RAID, we need new hard drives. If you have visited bugs.kde.org any time the last couple of months, you've noticed that this site often responds extremely sluggish. To improve the situation, we need to employ a new server, but need some more money for the hard drives for this beast! If you can help us with that, please consider to donate to the fundraiser. All amounts happily accepted through Paypal and other means. Read More

KDE 3.1 RC2: Ready For A Hammering

Tuesday, 5 November 2002
The KDE Project today released KDE 3.1 RC2, probably the last release candidate for KDE 3.1. A good number of showstoppers in RC1 have been fixed, and the new default Crystal-SVG icon set has been polished based on the valuable feedback received. Nevertheless, please give this RC2 another round of thorough testing to make sure all the major wrinkles have been ironed out. Please note that the kdebindings package still suffers from compilation problems in large parts, but this will be fixed by the final release. Thanks to the community for the feedback so far, let's keep it up and make the 3.1 release everything that is expected! Read More

Konqueror Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability

Wednesday, 11 September 2002
The KDE Project released two security advisories today. The first advisory is about a vulnerability in handling secure cookies, which has been fixed already in the KDE 3.0.3 release. Another vulnerability was discovered last week on Bugtraq, which is related to the cross site scripting protection in Konqueror. A patch and an updated kdelibs package was released today to fix both problems. The KDE 3.0.3 Info page was updated as well. It is recommended to upgrade immediately. Read More
