KDE Italia will be at Open Mind 2008

KDE Italia is attending this year's Open Mind Free Software event from May 8 to May 10, 2008. This event is tailored for all people with an emphasis on young students. Giovanni Venturi and Daniele Costarella will give a presentation on KDE 4 as well as provide further information on KDE applications during their workshop. Open Mind is located at Villa Bruno - San Giorgio a Cremano - Napoli - Italy. There will be a KDE Italia booth at the event where you can go for more information on the team as well as KDE. Report: KDE at The Italian Linux Day 2007 in Rome

On October 27th, KDE Italia attended the Italian Linux Day 2007 in Rome at the Tor Vergata University. Other cities had their Linux Day throughout Italy at the same time. For the people that have never attended to these kind of events, it is important to remember that the Italian Linux Day is a day dedicated to spreading Free and Open Source Software and specially the GNU/Linux Operating System and its software components such as KDE. An Interview with KDE-Edu Developers

We are here today to talk about the developers of the KDE-Edu Project. The purpose of this interview is to feature and present their work and motivation, which is often not as well-known or regarded as other, more prominent work within the KDE project. The KDE-Edu developers are developing high-quality educational software for the K Desktop Environment. Their primary focus is on school children aged 3 to 18, and the specialised user interface needs of young users. KDE Italia at OpenMind 2007 This Week

OpenMind 2007 is an Italian event dedicated to Free Software and free content. The event will be from this Thursday until Saturday (22nd to 24th) February in San Giorgio a Cremano, Naples. Giovanni Venturi, KDE Italia webmaster, KDE Italian translator and KSniffer developer will present KDE 3.5 and will give an update on the state of KDE 4 and Qt 4 on the 24th (Saturday) and will be running a KDE booth. KDE Regional Groups at aKademy

Last Wednesday the KDE regional groups Birds of a Feather session took place at aKademy 2006, Dublin. The focus of this BoF session was to share experiences that regional KDE-groups have had in building a community. A regional group is generally country based, e.g. KDE-IT for Italy and KDE-NL for Netherlands. Read More

This year at aKademy 2006 there will be a BoF section to discuss KDE local groups. The issue will be how to spread KDE in your own country, helping each other and finding more to help in future. The starting point of the BoF will be the KDE Italia experience and then the experiences of all the groups will be put together to make sure we spread KDE all around the world.
