Among the broad selection of software offered in the KDE Software Compilation is Parley, an application for vocabulary training. Recently people from Vox Humanitatis came in and provided a set of vocabulary data files for Parley for less known languages. This piqued our curiosity, so we did an interview with Sabine Emmy Eller, CCO of Vox Humanitatis.
Tell us a bit about yourself
In real life I am a translator and consultant for language and international marketing. Since 1994 I have been working as a freelance translator mainly in the technical, hardware and software localisation sectors. My first experience with Open Source was around 2001, and from 2004 on I am actively involved in projects of the Wikimedia Foundation. My focus moved to less resourced cultures in 2005 which in the end led to the creation of Vox Humanitatis working with Bèrto ëd Sèra. Today I am in charge of communication as CCO of Vox Humanitatis.

Qt Apps Community Sites Launched

Some days ago the the community around the web sites KDE-Apps.org, KDE-Look.org, etc launched two new web sites: Qt-Apps.org and Qt-Prop.org.
Both sites will be a home for presenting Qt based applications like kde-apps.org already is for presenting KDE applications. The difference between both new sites is that Qt-Apps will be pure FLOSS only, while Qt-Prop is a home for proprietary software. The launch was done in cooperation with Trolltech.

Yahoo! user interface blog hosts an interview video with Lars Knoll and George Staikos on KHTML and WebKit. The video features the history of Konqueror (first 10 minutes) as well as the current development situation (next 10 minutes), an outlook about the possible future and of course a short demo presenting Qt4-WebKit accessing the Yahoo! page and rendering it nicely (last 10 minutes). John Littler visited one of Aaron's presentations and asked him about what he was shown, the current work on KDE 4, the goals of KDE and about the KDE port to windows.
