KDE Wins three Linux Journal Awards

The KDE Project today received three Editors' Choice Awards in this year's round of the Linux Journal Editor's Choice awards. The KDE Web Browser Konqueror received the award for the best web client thanks to its high quality and for its very good integration into the desktop. KDevelop was awarded the prize for the best development tool, with its flexibility and broad adoption by the industry being mentioned as the primary reasons.
KDE was selected as the best desktop environment for its "improved architecture" and the "very active development". Whole hearted congratulations to the dedicated KDE developers. And many thanks to the editorial team of the Linux Journal, for their annually refreshed vote of confidence.

Linuxlookup.com is running a nice interview with Andreas Pour, Chairman of the KDE League, Dot editor ("Dre") and KDE evangelist, about the latest KDE release, the KDE developers' attitude towards Open Source and business use of KDE and KOffice.
Andreas points out some reasons why businesses might consider switching to Linux/KDE instead of migrating to Windows XP and reveals some interesting facts about the City of Largo's KDE installation: apparently it only requires half a person to provide user and technical support for all 800 KDE Users in an office environment. BrowserWatch is running a very positive review of Konqueror/Embedded, Simon Hausmann's efforts to build a lightweight version of Konqueror for Qt/Embedded systems. They mention the common codebase of both Konqueror versions, and have some nice words about KDE's Konqueror in general.
