The KDE Project is pleased to announce the immediate availability of KDE 3.5 Beta 2, dubbed "Koalition". The 3.5 Beta 2 info page lists where to download with packages available for Archlinux, Kubuntu, Slackware and SUSE.

To begin the KDE 3.5 release cycle, I uploaded KDE 3.5 Alpha 1 to the FTP servers. We're facing some trouble that is typical for an Alpha release, but it also brings some nice KDE 3.5 features to your desktop. There is no shortage of news this week for those of you following the dot, but to top it all off, I'm pleased to announce that the KDE Project has released another beta for the highly-anticipated KDE 3.4. And again, we're asking you to give it a good testing and report all problems you find on bugs.kde.org. A full announcement is available as well the info page listing source and binaries. A lot of development has happened since KDE 3.4 Alpha, so we are now happy to publish KDE 3.4 Beta 1 code named Krokodile. For a list of already implemented new features skim over the KDE 3.4 Feature Plan. For sources and packages (only Slackware so far, more have been promised to be released in the next few days), please visit the KDE 3.4 Beta 1 Info Page and browse the KDE 3.4 Requirements List. We have already received a lot of feedback to our KDE 3.3 Betas, so we can release a public Release Candidate. We want to have this tested as soon as possible, so we didn't wait for vendor binaries. That's one small step for KDE, one giant leap for Free Software - the KDE 3.3 Alpha 1 has been released to the FTP servers this morning. There won't be any binary packages for this release, everyone using Kindergarten is asked to compile it with --enable-debug, so that we can get valuable feedback. There is a new unstable version of Konstruct also available to install it. As the first beta has been delayed to finish more PIM features, we're proud to present the second alpha release of KDE 3.2. The first alpha was already seen as a very strong release and the second one is even better with 1374 bugs closed in the last 31 days. The major changes are the import of KSVG and KPDF into the KDE distribution, along with a major rewrite of the window manager. You can download the new release here.
