Already installing SUSE 8.2 packages via YaST :)
Just installed on 9.1. Works great BTW, but what's this KDE 3.3.2 'Level a'
they're talking about? See Help -> About KDE.
That's an addition by suse, so suse knows what package you installed. level 'a' means unpatched
Is there a way to do it automatically rather than downloading the rpms and then rpm -Uvh (or, I would assume, yast -i, although I usually use rpm)?
SUSE 9.1 Pro here.
Add ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.1/yast-s... as source to YaST.
Already have it there (tried it last update). No idea why it's not showing up.
(...testing...)
Hurm. Either it was me moving the URL to the top of the list or me finding the right place in the Install/Remove Software... either way, it's working now. Thanks!
alot bidi fixes to khtml finally rtl language are shown well in khtml.
My first Gentoo installation just emerged 3.3.1... Now I know what they were talking about...
Use deltup (http://linux01.gwdg.de/~nlissne/) to reduce download.
As far as compile is concerned, here I cannot help :)
Sincerely,
Gour
Gentoo compiles a lot faster with ccache.
It does not help, if you did not use ccache while compiling 3.3.1, but it will
help in the future.
Using ccache is explained well on Gentoo site.
Eleknader
True
I forgot that I'm using it :)
Sincerely,
Gour
When displaying long filenames on multicolumn mode konqui truncates them. And also when using minimum icon size, the option for displaying names on several rows doesn't get honored.
So it's a real pain seeing a list of an mp3 dir like this:
Some_artist-Some_album...
Some_artist-Some_album...
Some_artist-Some_album...
Some_artist-Some_album...
And add to this that the popup on mouseover doesn't show file name and usually hides the bottom state bar where it's shown... :(
So, if you don't like this behaviour just vote for.

Sorry for not providing Slackware packages before the announcement.
They are done, I'm testing them and they will be available before 24h.
Thanks. I'll be downloading them as soon as they are available.
Thanks for providing all these slackware kde packages. But why don't you release your build-scripts too? That would be great.
Now I just have to wait 6 months for it to appear on Fink. Ho hum.
(I've moved to an OSX machine, but I honestly prefer some of the KDE apps. Especially Kdevelop)

Thanks "pcxz" for providing so many great apps for slackware in time!!!
But sometimes he should try his packages first. Most of them are not working.
I use the qt-gtk-engine for making gtk1/gtk2 apps to have the style of KDE apps, but after upgrading to 3.2.2 it stopped working. I recompiled it, reinstaled from zero, and nothing...
Anyone elase have this problem or have 3.2.2 working with qt-gtk-engine?
Nevermind, running the CVS version that have a much better configure for package detection (I was missing some) solved my problem.
So the CVS version of gtk-qt-engine will correct the gtk theme issue?
Yes. Just Azureus/Gtk2 won't work with it. But everthing else is ok and better than with 0.5 version (could be my impression, but looks better and seems faster).
I've some problems with the qt-gtk-engine!!! I tried the installation with CVS (http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software_2fgtk_2dqt here), but I can't find the configure file in the directory!!
How to compile it??
My gtk on kde 3.3.2 is very awful...
THANKS for the help
KDM (kdmgreet) shows me this Warning:
"Warning: this is an unsecured session".
Any idee how to make it "secure" (get rid of this Warning)?
Greetings
I'm wondering the same thing and an Internet search lead me to your post. I'm using Mepis Linux and one alarming fact is that any user has full access to any other user's desktop. I don't know how to get that corrected either. Is this a KDE issue?
