KDE Dot News: We're Back, Again

We run into the best of luck at KDE Dot News. This time the air-conditioner in our server room died, resulting in a temperature of 52 degrees Celcius and a core meltdown. Since we had also been suffering from limited bandwidth for a while now -- since the week of the KDE3 release when we managed to kill our host's pipe -- we decided to take this opportunity to move to a new hosting solution. Happily, we were awash with wonderful offers for help and support of all kinds from the community.


Apple Releases JavaScriptCore Framework Based on KJS

Apple has released the source to

JavaScriptCore
, a JavaScript framework based on kjs. It will be used by various applications in upcoming Mac OS X releases. "JavaScriptCore is a private API which may be used by future Mac OS X
applications such as Sherlock, and is provided as Open Source as part
of our partnership with the KDE community. JavaScriptCore will be used


KPovModeler: A Graphical Modeler for KDE

After a good year of public existence, KPovModeler 0.2 is released.
KPovModeler is a full-featured graphical modeler and composer for creating POV-Ray(TM) scenes under KDE 3. It now supports almost the full gamut of POV-Ray 3.1 functionality -- see these nice screenshots. KPovModeler is a new member of the KDE Graphics package, but we are still looking for a documentation writer to join the project.
