The worldwide.kde.org contributors map has hot fresh updates. The contributor map on worldwide.kde.org shows developers, translators, doc writers, artists, packagers and other contributors of KDE in all the world. If you are a contributor to the KDE Project, submit your coordinates.
Beside the map with night effect on the main page, it features:
- 4 more map sizes
- zoom on Europe so you can see more names
- zoom on Central Europe so you can see all names
- maps with nicks
- and web images
You want to show your dedication to KDE on your webpage? Why not use the new webimages. They are available in several sizes, and feature a little KDE logo so they are a nice way to link to kde.org on your page.

don't you think a svg map would be better suited than plain jpeg for that kinda stuff?
we could zoom easily without clicking on another jpeg all the time. Plus it would be great to show the power of ksvg. There are plenty of project on the net providing svg map:
http://www.google.com/search?q=world+svg+map&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
I found that one in particular:
http://jibbering.com/2002/8/foaf-people-map.svg
that one would kick ass :)

new way to show yourself :)

I'd like to contribute libgaim to kopete.
Maybe you would have more luck advertising your likes and your dislikes on your blog? I'm not sure people will see your comments and feelings here.
Interesting that you want to contribute that. But instead, how 'bout contributing to the code base that's already in kopete? We've already replaced the backend support code for the aim/icq protocol several times. The current code for aim and icq has great potential, but simply needs more people working on it who know things about how the oscar protocol works for it to gain critical mass in terms of features. I'm sure the kopete team would welcome any contribution you could provide in terms of coding ability. They're really short on coders right now, but I don't think using libgaim is the answer.
So, this map clearly shows that KDE is a German/central European phenomenon.
Thanks! Enough proof :-)
As is any other Open Source Project.
For example:
http://www.debian.org/devel/developers.loc
The distribution is more or less the same.
I was trying to point out that this is one of the reasons why KDE is more popular in central Europe than let's say in the states.

I don't think this is the reason, because some projects are less popular in Europe even though most developers come from Europe:
