KDE2 to be included in Debian GNU/Linux

In an article posted on LinuxPlanet, Wichert Ackerman states that Debian will include KDE versions based on GPL'ed Qt. It seems everybody seems happy with Qt under GPL ;-)

Trolltech and Qt have been getting some good press and support lately. The latest good news includes a strategic alliance with Loki to develop Linux applications. The LinuxToday article is here and the full announce here. KDE is also potentially a big winner because it is quite easy for application developers to provide a KDE-enhanced version of a Qt app.

KDE Project issues statement on GNOME Foundation

The KDE Core Team took a break from coding and wrote up an official response to the whole GNOME foundation thing. It wouldn't have been necessary if not for the endless questions and misinformation about the project ever since the original announcement.

New Visio style application

theKompany.com recently announced the Kivio project, an attempt to build a Visio clone. Kivio will be based on KDE2 technology such as KParts and so it will be fully interoperable with KOffice.
